Absolutely intentional from day one. I planted this church with the explicit vision that it would reflect Revelation 7 — every tribe, tongue, and nation. That vision attracted people who shared it.

What is the hardest part of multicultural pastoral leadership?

There is no single answer to almost any question. Worship styles differ. Communication styles differ. Expectations about the pastor's role differ. You have to hold all of that with grace and not let the lowest common denominator flatten the beauty of the differences.

How do you preach to such a diverse congregation?

I preach to the universal human experience — longing, loss, hope, belonging — and then I let the Spirit apply it to each person's specific context. I also use stories from multiple cultures intentionally. Representation in the pulpit matters.

What is your word to pastors leading increasingly diverse congregations?

Learn. Be curious. Eat at people's tables. Let yourself be changed by the people you lead. Diversity is not a challenge to manage. It is a gift to receive.
